Post-Match Reflection Guide
Matches are where you test everything you have been working on in training. Reflecting after a match helps you process what happened, learn from it, and carry those lessons into the next session.
Reflect within an hour of the final whistle
The sooner you reflect, the more detail you remember. Open PlayReflect straight after your match while moments are fresh. Select 'Match' as your session type.
Rate your overall performance honestly
Give yourself an honest rating out of 10. This is not about being harsh on yourself. Over time, these ratings show you whether your average is trending up or down.
Capture what went well
Write down 2-3 things you did well. A good first touch under pressure, tracking back, winning a header. Recognising what works is just as important as spotting what needs improving.
Identify one area to improve
Pick one specific thing to work on before your next match. Not 'be better' but something concrete like 'check my shoulder before receiving the ball'. The AI will track whether this theme recurs.
Log your mood and energy levels
Were you nervous before kick-off? Did your energy drop in the second half? Logging these patterns helps you and the AI understand what conditions help you play your best.
Set an intention for your next session
Based on your reflection, set one thing to focus on in your next training session. PlayReflect will remind you of this intention when you start your next reflection.
Try it after your next match
