PlayReflect is used by young athletes aged 13 and over. We take safeguarding seriously. This page explains what we do to keep you safe while using the app, and where to get help if you need it.

How PlayReflect keeps you safe

Age check: You must be 13 or older to use PlayReflect. We ask for your date of birth during signup and block accounts under 13.
AI safety: Our AI companion is trained to be supportive and age-appropriate. If you share something that sounds like you might be in danger or need help, the AI will share crisis resources and encourage you to talk to a trusted adult.
Flagging: If our system detects a message that suggests serious harm, we log it for review by our safeguarding team. We do this to make sure nobody falls through the cracks.
Privacy: Your reflections are private by default. Parents and coaches only see what you choose to share. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Parent access: If you're under 18, a parent or guardian can request to see your trends (not your actual reflections). You control what they see in your Settings.

What the AI will NOT do

It will not diagnose mental health conditions
It will not give medical advice
It will not replace a counsellor, therapist, or doctor
It will not promise to keep secrets if you are in danger

Reporting a concern

If you have a safeguarding concern about a young person using PlayReflect, or if you believe a young person is at risk, please contact us immediately at [email protected].

We will respond to all safeguarding concerns within 24 hours. In an emergency, always contact your local police or emergency services first.
